Where Happiness REALLY Comes From

Where Happiness REALLY Comes From
 by Jane Powell
“Happiness is abundant in the joy of achievement.”

Happiness doesn’t come from successfully completing simple or mundane tasks, it comes from completing a task that demands your best efforts.

When you pour your heart and soul into something and you accomplish that something, the afterglow of satisfaction you feel is happiness. It is the thrill of all your efforts and hard work.

Each and every one of us needs to accomplish, achieve and triumph to be happy. Our human spirit requires it. Remember that happiness thrives in activity and accomplishment

Are you aware of what's happening right now? Or do your recollections of the past and speculations about the future create a barrier between you and the present moment?
Are you fully living and experiencing this life that you have? Or do you put so much energy into analyzing every detail and worrying about every move that there's no time left to simply and gloriously be?
Are you striving so earnestly to get ahead that all the effort is putting you more and more behind? Is your life so totally defined by what you need to do that you've lost sight of who you are?
There is so much you can let go of, without really losing a thing. It is when you stop merely trying that you can truly be.
The life for which you have always longed is as close as your very next choice. You are completely equipped and prepared to make that choice.
This moment is filled with magnificent possibilities, and this moment is when you can bring the best of them to life. Let go of those burdens you really don't need, and open yourself to the beauty of now.

Deliver yourself
You will succeed not because you’re allowed to, but because you decide to. You will prosper not because of the hand you’ve been dealt, but because of what you do with it.

You can allow yourself to be held back by what is, or you can choose to create what can be. Whatever comes your way is insignificant when compared to what you make of it.

Though others may have impressive wealth and other advantages going for them, remember this. You have you going for you.

You have a solid, authentic purpose, and the determination to fulfill that purpose. You have a unique perspective, and the ability to leverage that perspective into real, lasting value.

That’s more than enough to take you wherever you choose to go, no matter what your starting point may be. Whether circumstances favor you or not, your commitment and your actions can always be working in your favor.

Don’t waste your time obsessing over what’s unfair or unfortunate about your situation. Put all your energy into what you can do, into the positive steps you can take, and deliver yourself to wherever you wish to be.
Ralph Marston
