Be Honest…How Well Do You Know Yourself?

by Jane Powell
“There are many ways to know yourself.”
You are a multifaceted person. Discovering yourself can be the adventure of a lifetime. Learning how comfortable or uncomfortable you are in certain situations, if you’re outgoing or quiet, what makes you happy or sad, and knowing what you’re good at and what you’re not, is part of nurturing a balanced life. Do you know all those things about yourself? Or, are you too busy, too stressed, or too focused on someone else to care?
Knowing as much as you can about yourself makes decision-making easier. When you know “you,” it’s easier to ensure that your choices are the right ones. This knowledge is your key to harmony and balance. So, take the time to know yourself. It’s the only way to make certain that you live a happy, fulfilling life.

Letting Go of Sorrow

If I allow bitterness and resentment to fester inside, it will make my relationships guarded and unsatisfying. The more I close down to others, the more I become a stranger to myself. By letting go of sorrow and negativity, I can keep my nature open and loving. Remaining open to life, with its constant adventures and opportunities to grow, is the only way to reach my full potential.

Instead of looking for reasons to complain, look for ways to be joyful. When you're not sure what to do, take a long, deep breath and smile a delightful, sincere smile.
Put a little beauty in your thoughts and you'll see much beauty in your world. Think again and again of all that you have to be thankful for.
Peacefully accept what is, and transform it into the best of what can be. Remember that nothing ends up being the way it first seems, because it is all influenced by your own perspective and your own actions.
Enjoy the unexpected twists and turns in your life's adventure. Treasure the experience, the learning, the love and the richness of every little thing.
Make life great by appreciating how great it is. Give each day value by making positive, purposeful use of it.
Small, fragile sprouts of beauty, wonder and abundance spring up in every moment. Love them, nurture them and let them grow into a magnificent garden of your very own design.
