How to Make the BEST Decisions

How to Make the BEST Decisions
by Jane Powell

“The best decisions are made with self-awareness.”

Decisions. You face them every day. It’s the big ones that are tough. First and foremost, when facing a big decision, you have to know what is important to you. It may sound selfish, but it’s not. It is essential to making the best possible choices.

Avoid making decisions because someone else is pressuring you. You may start out with the best intentions but you won’t be motivated to carry it out, and may often live with regret.

Next time you’re faced with a big decision, take the time to examine your own thoughts and beliefs. Your feelings, ideas and experiences are what you must think about before making a big commitment.

Self-awareness is the key to how the best decisions are made.

Change
Things change. People change. Rules change. The world changes. Desires change. Conditions change. Opinions change. Change is everywhere, all the time. What was certain yesterday, is different today, and will be something else tomorrow. Think of the people you've known for a while. Do you really know them the way they are now, or do you still assume they're basically the same people they were years ago? Consider how many things in your life have changed in the last six months -- what you've learned, how you've grown. Remember, everyone else changes too. That prospect who had no interest last month has changed since then.

Consider the implications this fast changing world. What assumptions are you making, that might no longer be valid? Embrace change and it will work for you. Resist change and the world will pass you by.

Think highly enough of yourself to make wise and effective use of this day. Remember that every moment you fill is your own, precious, irreplaceable time.
Think highly enough of yourself to diligently follow the goals you have set. Now is your opportunity to make real progress.

Respect and honor the values you hold by expressing those values with the way you live. Be true in each action to your highest vision.

The way you live right now is the way you truly are. The fulfillment you experience is the fulfillment you create today.

Your thoughts, your words, your actions and feelings are always creating the substance of your life. Now is when you can create for yourself the best you can imagine.

Think highly enough of yourself and your possibilities to live with positive purpose and passion. This is your life and this is your time to make it great.
