Are You Feeling Lost?

Are You Feeling Lost?
by Jane Powell

“In the quest to have more, be more and do more, you may lose yourself.”

It seems that each one of us is in a never-ending quest to have more, be more and do more. Our lives become a blur of activities that we don’t necessarily enjoy. As for the things that we do enjoy, the pleasures and pastimes that recharged our souls remain forever on a “to-do” list. In all the hustle and bustle, it is too easy to lose yourself.

Take control! Don’t be afraid to ask for help with those mundane, daily tasks. And, most important, don’t feel afraid or guilty about saying “No!” when you need time to recharge.

Deep inside, you know what’s most important. Always putting yourself second doesn’t serve anyone. Now, take out your “to-do” list and start doing! It’s the best way to keep in touch with who you really are.

What upsets you is not what happens. What upsets you is your response to what happens.
Just as easily as you respond in a negative way, you can easily and naturally respond in a positive, empowering, uplifting way.

The biggest problems are often caused by what you choose to do about the smallest problems. Most of those big, painful problems are so unnecessary.

Keep reminding yourself that you are in control of you. You are in control and you can decide exactly how you wish to feel at any point.

Imagine the power of remaining calm and focused and resourceful when some totally unexpected, disappointing development interrupts your day. Truly, you can make the disappointments not disappointing at all.

Respond on purpose, with purpose. Feel the power and the joy as every moment gives you a way to move forward.

If you seem to lack the energy to move forward, ask yourself this question. What is draining you?
Are there negative habits or thought patterns that steal your energy away?

Make the effort to identify them and make the commitment to change.
Are there people in your life who drain your energy with their negativity?Choose to get yourself more often around more positive, enthusiastic, empowered and empowering people.
Are you being constantly depleted by your focus on the world's difficulties?
Challenge yourself to identify the positive possibilities that are present in every difficult situation, and remember that the future is what you make it.
Is too much of your energy being consumed by a particular shortcoming in your skills or abilities? Take the time to make improvements in those skills, and transform weakness into strength.
Whatever may be draining your energy, you can find it and successfully deal with it. Once you do, you'll find you have all that is necessary to accomplish whatever you choose.
Ralph Marston
